The Skiing

Welcome to Montgenèvre, in the Hautes-Ales, on the French-Italian border. Part of the Milky-way, Montgenèvre, provides cross-border skiing and 400km of slopes. Within Europe’s highest larch woods, you get tree-lined skiing at altitude in the forest above Claviere. Montgenèvre is at 1860m, creating great snow conditions until late April. There are lots of runs back to the resort, so no walking or catching buses at the end of the day. We love the great lift system, lack of queues and uncrowded slopes. Have a look at the piste map.

Beginners
A great ski school and a friendly village atmosphere, make this the perfect place to learn to ski. Unlike many resorts, you very quickly get to experience the high moutain and wonderful views, skiing some of the lovely long blues and greens in Montgenèvre. Group or private lessons with english speaking French instructors.

Intermediate
The blues and reds of Montgenèvre and Claviere, the wide slopes, free of mogul fields, make this the perfect place to practice your carving turns, enjoy the scenery, challenge yourself, or just hunt for the perfect hot chocolate in the 10 mountain restaurants. We arrange away days to different resort, so you can experience Serre Chevalier, Sauze d’Oulx, Sestriere and SanSicario, all for FREE on your weekly ski pass.

Advanced
There are enough reds, blacks and off-piste in the Milky Way to keep the most demanding skiers happy. Our Ski safari weeks will ensure 4 or 5 away days, skiing up to 9 different resorts. If that isn’t enough, the La Grave off-piste area is only 45 minutes away, as is Val Thorens. As it’s at 1860m, Montgenèvre is a snow-sure resort.

San Sicario, Sestriere and Sauze d'Oulx are all part of the Milky Way. A one week ski pass allows one free day in the Milky Way.
